FAREWfcLLED. A very pleasant function took place at the Mental Hospital on Saturday evening last, when the staff of that institution met to say fareweii and make a presentation to Mr R. Cleere, who is going into the Training camp ait Trentham. Tlie presentation consisted of a complete shaving outfit, and was made by Mr George Wormington who referred in tlie course of his speech -to Mr Cleero’s long connection with the institution, and eulogised his diligence in carrying out the onerous duties ui his position. Messrs Dowling, Kavanagh and Atkinson supplemented the remarks' of the previous speaker. Mr. Cleere in a feeling speech thanked the staff for the thoughtful consideration they had shown him, and lie said lie hoped when lllurope had sheathed its sword to return and resume Ins duties amongst his friends at Sea View. With the singing of tlie National 'Anithem and “He’s a Jolly Good Fellow” a pleasant function terminated.
