SERIOUS HURRICANE
Many Hives Lost
(Australian & N.Z. Cable Association and Reuter.) Sydney, Feb 2 7 Dataiio received of a hurricane at New Caledonia on Feb. 14th dsscribe it as one of the heaviest experienced. Pagamonne mining settlement was totally wrecked and raauy persons were injured. Six men in a motor boat, attempted to save the lighters in the harbour but were blown to sea, three being drowned. Onaoo township suffered heavily, two peraons being killed and eighteen injured. Fifteen lighters, a hulk,' and two tugs were sunk, and the steamers La France and Bellambi weie blown ashore.
