METHODIST CONFERENCE.

Wellington, Feb 23

The fifth annual conference of (he Methodist Church of New Zealand opened last night. About two hundred and forty delegaies from all parts of New. Zealand were present. Tbe president of the conference, the Rev C’ Lawry presided. Following on the president's address was the election of president, vice-president, and secretary for the ensuing jear, Tbe Rev W. A. Sinclair (CbriVchureh) was elected president with 153 votes, and Mr J. Veale vice-presi-dent with 112 votes.

The Rev E. Drake was elected secretary.

The new president wag inducted by the Rev A. C. Lawry, who pres anted him with tbe insigua of office. The Rev Mr Sinclair briefly replied. The vice-president and secretary were also installed in ti eir respeciive offices.
