McLEAN’S PICTURES.
“ The Plunderer ” To-night
Tha Wm Fox photoplay enprome “ The Plunderer ” ia the star item of McLoan’d all new bill to be presented at tha Opera House this evening, and is described by the Otago Daily Times as being the finest picture ever presented to a Dunedin audience. The story is of the wealthy Cro-s of Gold mine and the plunderer, Bully Kealey who is in charge. He works the mine to suit his own ends, and conceals the richness of the lode from Dick Townsend, the proprietor. In his evil motive he is assisted by a half breed named Pedro. Townsend is thwarted in every way in his endeavour to work hia property, and at one tima he and his associates are well nigh entombed by the villains blocking up the level behind them, but they escape up an abandoned gallery. At another time the rain of the new owner is attempted by the blowing np of the dam, which supplies the water power for the working of the mine. These episodes take place amidst the ronghTurroundiDgs of Western mining camps, and in picturesque mountain scenery. The plot is excellently acted, and the screening is worthy of the acting. The supports are of the best, and will combine with the Btar in making a thoroughly delightful programme.
