From Internal Affairs Department, asking for further particulars in respect to soldiers’ room at Hokitika, with a 1 view to making further monetary pro- ' vision.—Received, and information supl plied. [ From National War Funds Council, [ acknowledging payment in respect to te Naval Dependents’ Relief Fund, anu stating the matter was now adjusted. 1 —Received. l From same, agreeing to pay monthly 1 quota of £24 for soldiers comforts on . behalf of Westland to the New Zea- ( land Federated Societies’ Board, a'so asking for returns. —Received with thanks, and returns supplied. From same, forwarding £IOO for Imprest Account (second instalment) and conveying the congraulations or the Minister to the Westland Society upon the result of its work during tho last few months. —Received with thanks. From same, acknowledging £573 11s 6d sent from Westland to the National War Funds.—Received. Votes of thanks were passed to the collectors of these amounts. From Advisary (Board, Wellington, supplying list of pensions granted on the West Coast.—Received. From same, in respect to various appeals for grants for comforts, etc., for war work at the front.—Received. It was resolved to express the view that tho subscribed .funds should bo utilised for the sick and wounded and tlieir dependents, and that for war services outside of this scope funds should bo provided, elsewhere. From same, supplying business sheet for meeting on 22nd inst.—'Received . and referred to Mr Grimmond who is attending tho meeting. [ From National Service League, Masterton, asking, assistance with respect to circulating appeal for war orphans through the schools of the Dominion. - —Received; to be considered on receipt of speciment booklet. From Canterbury Patriotic Fund, forwarding particulars of constitution.— Received. From Hawkes Bay Committee, asking support to a resolution having in effect tho ear-marking of the Excess Profits Tax for the direct benefit of the soldiers, apart from tho pension scheme. —Received; no action taken. From Pensions and Other departments in respeeifc to the case of a discharged soldier to whom full pension had been granted.—Received. The Hon. It was stated various cases were being assisted to gee renewals of expiring pensions. From Quartermaster-General in respect to separation allowance tor « widow.—Received. Assistance granted in various cases was reported and approved. The meeting then adjourned.
