He considered wo wanted a great imperial poJicy in Britain to order to be able to say to India, Australia, Egypt and Canada farmers that Britain hud sacrificed their war profit and it was up to you to make a similar sacrifice for the good of the Empire. If we ar3 able to get ail the Dominions into this great movement we will be able to snap oar fingers at the Chicago speculator. M. Prothero believed he could bring in the Dominions by fixing prices in Britain as the basis of the key to the whole thing.
