“Staga and Pulpit” Monday Oa Monday evening next at the Princess Theatre Pollard’s Pictures will present the renowned star and supreme emotional actress Gail Kane in the remarkably powerful dramatic story of the stage and the pulpit “The Actress and the Minister,” Mias Gail Kane was formerly a Metro star but seceding from the company she joined the World Film Equitable, the producers of “The Actress and the Minister” or to give it its proper book title “The Labyrinth.” The plot unravels the fate of Flo Burke, a poor cafe singer, who rose to be a Btar, marrying a minister who hated the stage but loved its greatest idol. Flo Burke, O or as gossip had styled her “the notorious Flo Burke,” was a woman of beauty and daring. She was unjustly named but circumstances and the need of success had forced her into daring acts that gave a color to the intrigues sh 9 was accused of. Tho piece is beautifully staged and acted —the settings of the reproduction of tho play "The Green Goddess” and the wreck of the train—are splendidly staged. Gail Kane playß tho part of euccaesful actress and lovable sister, with deep subdued pathos that neyer broadens into melo-drama even in the sensational scenes with the theatrical manager. She uses the suppressed power to the extreme. The final scenes of tin are well worked out. The au : cures consist of Topical G< i. . a good farce comedy.
