Daring his recent, visit, to the coast Mr W. E. Golfs coi'ecled a large number of interesting relics and articles that bad been strewn aloDg the beaches. His object in doing so was to exhibit the articles at some function, indicating where were found eo as to show the trend of the ooesn currents. Another thing to be noted on the coast at pi6cßut, Mr Goffe reports, is a phenomenal death rate amongst penguins, and this is coGsiderod to be attributable to c-orne poise nous matter which haa escaped from (Le Tocgaiito wreck, nud which is scattered about the beach in large quantities. Dead penguins were to be seen on tbe beaches between Tolngo Bay and Hicks Bay. -
