AN APPEAL WITHDRAWN.
Whan the appeal of Archibald Mu!lany, of the Canteen, Fsatherston, was called at Masterton (slates the “Wairarapa Daily Times”), Captain Walker stated that appellant had asked for the appeal to be withdrawn. “This is a commendable case," said Captain Walker. “MulLny’s ’ two brothers have enlisted, one being killed and the other wounded. Mullany enlisted but was rejected, and had undergone a Eeriona operation in order to fic himself for active service.
When he left the hospital he waa told not to think of entering camp for at least six months. It was daring this period he had been drawn in the ballot, and in following out the doctor’s advice he had put in an appeal. The man says he now feels fit and well,” concluded Captain Walksr, “and that is the reason why he has asked for the appeal to be withdrawn.” When the oßp‘a ; - h i finished his statement ft mm >nroval went through the ■■ • ■ dding.
