THE JUBILEE MEETING.
Outside Comment. (Lyttelton Times.) Mr H, Cassidy had an uufortuuafce experience iu connection with the Westland Racing Club’s meeting. Having assisted at the first meeting at Hokitika, at which he was among the successful owners, he was naturally anxious to be represented at the jubilee fixture. The daughter of Achilles— Marseillaise took part in the big race at Hokitika this week but she was nnequal to the task, while she also failed to show up in tha final event of tha meeting.
The officials of the Westland Racing Club must have been quite satisfied with the result of the Jubilee Gold Gup. They did net represent particularly high class, though meet of the best horses racing on tho West Coast circuit cook parr, and the race appears io have provided an interesting contest- for tho rich prize which the club bang up. Tha win of Killjoy occasioned no surprise; in fact, she bad been selected as a likely winner for some weeks past. She is a tlnee-year-old fiily by Kiibrony from Soberside, by Obligado from the Australian bred mars Broadside, by Goldaborough

Then shs went south, scoring an oaßy win at tho Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting. She wag then sent to tho West Coast, capturing a race each day at Hokitika.
