FOR SAVING LIFE.
At the Surf Bathing Club’s shed, Greymoutb, on Sunday morning, in the presence of a large number of surf bathers and the general public, the Royal Humane Society’s bronze medal and certificate was presented to Constable Mcßoberts by His Worship the Mayor, who, in course of his remarks congratulated Mr Mcßoberts cu his* act of valour which resulted in hisV" saving the life of an estimable citizaD, Mr Eanis of the Railway Department, last March, and was pleased that his efforts on that occasion had been recognised. The medal was one to be highly honoured and came second " only to a military medal awarded for bravery under fire. He hoped Mr Mcßoberts would enjoy many years to wear this medal, and called for . three hearty cheers, which were lustily ' given by ths large crowd present.
