WEHEKA JUMBLE SALE.

A Great Success. At Wehtka a jumble sale and entertainment were held for the purpose of assisting Mr Tubura Bannister, who has recently returned invalided from the front, to regain his health by lending him to odo of the sanitoriumi* At will be seen by thg balance Bheet appended, the people of the district have done their duty in remembering one who has fought and suffered for his country. Since the outbreak of war the South Westland folk have done splendidly, every call for financial help, being responded to most liberally. Some of the families of the district have been most generous, and shown a magnificent spirit and example to those about them. In the same way the South baß done well in providing voluntary recruits, and the district has every reason to be proud of its whole-hearted support to every aspect of the war. The effort here recorded speaks for itself and is a credit to the contributors as well aa a testimony to the estsem and regard in wbioh the beneficiary is held by the southern community.
