The city is in a panic, because wholesale attempts have been made to kill prominent people. On Christmas morning explosives were placed under the bou&s of the Govenor, Mr Spry. The bomb did cot explode. An infernal machine was sent to Mr James Jennings, a capitalist. Several suspecta have been arrested. They are friends of Joseph HilHtrcm, who was executed three years ago for a similar outrage.
