The stpll accommodation for the competing horses at the HokitiSa racecourse has been considerably extended of late, and for better identification each siall has been numbered, and the number is prominently displayed, In all there are 65 boxes and stalls for the use of the horses, and with the ample paddock room there is not any fear of congestion on race days,
As an illustration of the quantity of goods required for the New Zealand troops, Hoh A. M. Myers stated that roughly, sixty million articles, costing approximately two and a half million pounds, have been arranged for and applied to military purpises since ho assumed office as Minister in Charge of Munitions and Supplies m lugust last year.
It is notified in this issue that acceptances for the Hokitika races close tomorrow night at 9.30 o’elock at the Post Office hotel. The trotting handicaps were published yesterday, and the weight for the gallops appear in this issue. It is announced also that owners etc. may obtain their tickets at the Post Office hotel to-morrow evening. The tariff at the gates for the meeting will be, outside 2/6, inside 7/6. Ladies are admitted free, as also soldiers in uniform, and West Coast Pioneers wearing the provincial jubilee badges. '
