The results of Little's Embroidery Competition are advertised in. this issue. Mr and Mrs. H. E. Leighton returned by the "Marama" on Tuesday after spending an extended tour of tfhe Old Country. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Teagle who have been visiting America and the . Old Country returned by the ■' l Marama',' on Tuesday. The following letteT has been received by the Clerk of the Hutt County Council from the Belmont Progressive Association:—"My committee wish to express their appreciation for the good work recently carried out by your Council on tSiis side of . the river and also their appreciation of the untiring interest taken in the matter on our behalf by Cr. Dyer." The management of King George Theatre wishes to make it known that it was not in any way responsible for the over-ibookinig of seats at Miss Bartosh's Becital on Monday night. On the Saturday before Xmas allshops will be open until 12.30 p.m. and on Ximas Eve the closing hour will be 10 pan. At the Trinity Congregation Church. Central Terrace next Sunday evening there will be a special Christmas service. Special Christinas hymns will be sung, also carols by the choir and ehilI dTen. Thqre will also be solos.
