GARDEN PARTY AT ANGLICAN BOYS' HOME.

i T&ere was a disappointingly small gathering at the annual Garden Party theld at the Anglican Boys' Home last Saturday afternoon, and consequently the offerings which generally assume such liberal proportions, ■ suffered proi portionately, but.it is to be hoped that ] the many—and generous—supporters of the Home will still give generously so that those in charge of this very large family of 62 , may not be harassed as to ways and means. T»he Hutt Municipal Silver Band did yeoman service, and Cubmaster Hoggard, with her assistant, Miss Withington and the Home Cubs, gave a display which gave the onlookers an insight into the varied and most practical and useful activities into which these very small boys are initiated, and many viewed their den, which is, as yet a new instition, but whicli will in time become a retreat of w&ich to be proud. There is even a gramophone installed there, with a stirring "Maori record which is dra-

matised in truly realistic manner. The interior has received one coat of paint, and is, in tie near future, to receive anotheo*. fThe stalls did brisk trade, and were as fpllpws:—<Cake and Fancy Stall, Mrs House and Mrs. JTollands; Ice-cream: Joyce and Isabel McMillan; Vegetable: Derelk Forsyth and Edgar Marten; Flower Stall: Agnes McMillan.
