MOERA BROWNIES' BIRTHDAY PARTY.

. i&l very pleasant evening was specnt last week by the Moera Brownie Pack, it being thpir first birthday. A: very nice cake was m«/ddiwith one ean'dle in tSie centre and good fat brawn owl in the corner, whilst kewpies adorned the edges. There was a large gathering of children and parents, also leaders of 'other troops from Wellington, Petone and Hufct; also the leaders and boys of the Moera Scouts and Cufo Pack.

Several items were given by the chil■dren, action songs, recitations and two playettes (which showed much credit to their leader, Miss Praser), entitled "Brwn Owl" and "Tawny Owl" .(Miss Macfarlane).

Eleven children were presented with their first year's service star, the District Commissioner of Guides, Miss .Seely, making the presentations.

T9 wind up the evening the children all enjoyed a dainty supper wrich they did full justice to. The evening, ended with the singing of the Jtfatiomal Antt«m.
