HUTT RIVER BOARD.
Advico — has been received by tlie Hutt-T Elver. Board; from its solicitor, Mr. E. P. Bunny, that the passage of the Land Drainage and River Protection Bill jias been postponed until next Session of Parliament. The Bill provides ior the alteration in the date of all river board, elections.. Up to the: time o£ the last triennial election^ tiia took place on{ th& second Tuesday 'in. January. This^ date was found to be inconvenient, as it- clashed wit-h. the. boliday period and. in the new Bill authority is sought to hold future elections on the thiTd Wednesday in May, which will about coincide with the time of County Council elections.
If the BilLis. passed, tlie next election odE the Board will be in May 193& Another effect of the Bill -will be to consolidate the Eiver Board Act of 1908 and embcfdyin^ land drainage.
