SOCIAL EVENING AT WAIWHETU

BTTFFALO SOCIAL AND DANCE. Tua Rna hall was filled on Thursday night, October 2nd, when members of the R.A.0.8. gave their wives and friends a social and dance. Clegg's Orchestra was in attendance and during the evening Mr. McMillan sang, accom> panied by "The White Coon Trail" instrumentalists, Mr. 'White also gave a .pianoforte item. The evening opened with a grand march, the memibers wearing regalia, and after the march the members sang their chorus. Several novelty dances took place during the evening the prize winners being as fol- , lows:-r-* * Monte Carlo," Miss McMillan and Mr, T. Wolland; "Lucky Spot," Miss Johnston and partner, and "Buffalo Damce," Mrs Jones and Mr Abhor Taylor. Mr. W. Nash, M.P. sent an apology. The P.GKP. of Wellington District was one of those- present. The joint, M.0., Messrs Leatham and Me-. Millan ably caTried out their duties.
