With the approach of Xinas, mothers
are to plan simple yet useful -gifts. This year it may not foe an easy matter for parents to give what they
desire. Tho Committee* of the local iiranich of the League of Mothers/ re-. aHmug this, axe planning a unique afternoon for their meeting next week. An array of novelties (some of them made from scraps) will be displayed and explained. Mothers will )>e shoTrri by experts how to make the sw/eetest of all gifts from their gardens. Others nvill show the «se on© can make of one Is larder, etc. The dainty arranging of every day articles as ."gifts will also foe shown and suitaible articles that the children can make will foe iIV Ijastrated. There will foe a demonstration taJble where members- may try to make things for themselves and the «oost of several effective presents will •"be given. It is hoped that this will be of some assistance to mothers to , ,tyft!om these pT»etical suggestions may v'be new. It promises to foe a fascinating knd intensely practical afternoon. The programme will suit th© subject and as usual the meeting is open to all womenin the Valley.
