THE LEAGUE OF MOTHERS.
At the August meeting of the Lowe* Hutt Branch of the League of Mother 3 Mrs. Gabey, Lady Superintendent of .%. John Ambulance, Wellington, gave b most interesting and instructive address on Home Nursing. Mrs. Gaboy, assisted by Mrs. Yates senr., demoustrated with bed and patient the changing of sheets, etc for a sick person and the many ways in which one might add to the suffers comfort. She then proceeded to give most helpful advice to.mothers on childish ailments, answering the questions asked by various members, the distinguishing of rashes, applying of plasters, and of immovable bandages were ably dealt with. A most heaTty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Gabey who was. presented with: a •basket of primulas and violets. Mrs Phillips gave a beautiftd rendering of *' Homing."
A numiber of new members were admitted at the admission service.
Afternoon tea was served and tho meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
