ROWDYISM IN LOWER HUTT.
Stone throwing, at any time, is a strange form of amusement, but when it- has a elvureh building for a target it is still more difficult to appreciate.
Pout stones of considerable size, a gashed outside light, a gaping hole in the window^, a b,rpken.;..blackboard, and a litter of glass; these were the evi.dences of the previous night's escapade found at the Church of Christ in Queens Boad one day last week.
! This occurrence recalls an incident of a few months ago, whe^t. the same building was forced, and in» .addition to other damage an organ was extensively damaged with a hammer. Empty pottles and savaloys indicated that the church had been the unusual setting for »a drunken spTee.
While the officers of the church, concerned are responsible for the Tepair of such damage, the fact that ehurehea are public buildings in which are taug&t the priniples of good citizeaship, makes offences of this nature, offences against the entire community.
