PETONE BIBLE CLASS FEDERATION.
The Petonc Bible Class Federation hold a .successful prepared and impromptu speech evening test Saturday night in the Baptist {School-room, Buick Street, Petone. A very appreciative audience listened %to the -various speeches, which were very well received. The- subject of the prepared speech was "A Famous-Character," and many interesting personalities weTe introduced. Mr. W. M. Garner acted as judge for the prepared speeches, and the following i.^ the result, together with the subjects of the speakers: Ist, Mr. A. .Lie.bezeit "Posia Wedgewood"; 2nd.; Mr. W. B. Lowe " Robert Clive"; 3rd., Mr. W. Rosevcar-, "Robert Owen." / The impromptu' speeches were judged by Mr. A.,MeFadyen, principal of the Petone Technical School, and he also supplied the subjects. The following is the result: Ist, Mr. W. Carey "False Pride"; 2nd., Mr. A. Liebezeit, "How to Smile Properly"; 3rd. Mr. W. S. Lowe, "Should Dancing be Probibited?" Supper was seTvcd at the conclusion of a very enjoyaWe evening.
