GOOD SPORTS.

With a xeal desire to assist the Borough Council in its efforts to relieve distress in the district the Lower Hutt: Association Football Club -has recently concluded a series of dances for that purpose. At Monday evening's Council meeting, Or. Campbell, president of the Club, had the great pleasure of pre-* senting the Mayor with a cheque for £35 as a Tesult of the club's efforts, and requested that the money be placed to the credit'of the Mayor's Relief Fund. Cr. Campbell said that he was very proud to be associated with feueh a tslub and to tiink that there are people in the Lower Hutt who fire wiHin'g to do their ,part it) relieving distress in the district. He hoped • the example would be followed by^ other clubs. The donation will Teeeivo a £■- for £ subsidy from the Government.
