On the local ground the Hutt Senior A team played a pointless game with V.M.C.A.

The S.enior B (A Team) mot Varsity A on Karori No. 2. last Saturday. Despite the fact that the local forward lino, was weakened owing to Matthews being promoted to the Senior A team, I-lutt were unfortunate iv not turning the tables on Varsity who were the victors the- previous Saturday. The game was fast and interesting throughout. Hutt attacked strongly from the initial bully aiM play remained in Var.sity territory'for-.a ..period. Even play followed} the backs on both sides being called upon to defend. After about half an hour Jaeobson accepted a centre and found "the net with a snot which, gave the goalie no chance. .Varsity'A 1, Hutt 6. Hutt decided to play Varsity at their own game in the second spell with the result that the Eivcrsidors had the better of the concluding stages. Within a few minutes of resuming Stoupe. finished off a fine forward movement, making the score Varsity 1, Hutt 1. The defence on both sides proved sound-and there was no further score, although Hutt found the net towards tho close of the spell. Atkins and the Varsity -goalie hit the ball at the same time, the ball rose and as it descended Stoupe, who was handy, shot hard. No goal was allowed, the referee ruling -that Atkins obstructed the goalie. With three oponehts round him arid the short time at his disposal it was impossible for Atkins to move. Diamond was out of his position as left wing and was put in as an extra* half after the spell, his play improving considerably. Clellaucl, in goal for Hutt, did the little ho was asked to, well. The Senior B (B,team) defeated Huia •by. 9 goals to 2. THIRD GRADE. The Thirds lost to Pc-tone by 2 goals to nil. The "final dance oi: the season will be held in the King George Hall, on Wednesday, 13th August.. The Pennsylvanians have beon engaged to supply the music and a good night is assured. Members and friends requiring invitations should apply to the committee as soon as possible.
