WEDDING. ALSOP—HUNTER.
The wedding was solemnised at the Methodist Church, on June 11th, of Glftdys. Nellie JAlsop,1 daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Alsop, Taita, to John Stewart Hunter, eldest son of Mr and Mrg. J. Hunter, of the Hutt; Tie Rev H. Sharpe was the officiating minister. Mr. Horman was at the organ. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her father, -wore a charming frock of cream embossed gooTgetto. The long skirt had four peaks, with panncl of silver lace, lined with pink, and the frock wa-s trimmed with pearl and diaimarite trimming and silver flowers. T-he long veil formed a train and the cap was encircled- with orange-blossoms, and .she woto silver shoes. Her bouquet was of flowers iv cream and pink tones j and maidenhair fern and tulle streamers "Her maids were Miss Phyllis Alsop; sistor of the bride (chief),-and Miss Syibil Hunter,' sister of the bridegroom. They were iv frocks of silk embroidered net, i worked with silver and seli>eolour; the former over shell-pink cropede-chene, tho latter over apple-green crepe-de-chene. Thy were made long,. wit-K six peaks and tightiittiug bodices, with, pink and green shoulder-sprays, each wore a peaked bandeau of tiny rose-buds of georgette, and carried bouquets of pale pink toning to deep pink. There was also a small, flower-girl, MJSs Juno Murray, who wore a frock of pink crepe-de-chcnc, with over-dress of silver lace, made with short waisted bodice, tiny puff sleeves and peaked skirt and rose-bud trimmings, with iband of pink and silver bead-flowers and carried a basket of snowdrops and pink carnations. Her stockings were pink and her shoes of silver. Mr. Jack Osborne v wa» best man- and Mr; Cyrijl Lambert, groomsman. The bridegroom's gifts to the maids were a signet ring and rhinestone necklet, and to the small flower-girl he gave a signet ring. A reception was afterwards iield at the Taita Hall where 150 guests were entertained, Mrs. Alsop receiving in a frock of navy celanese marocain with beige front and Oriental trimming and beigo and navy nat, her bouquet being of violets and eyelamen. The bridegroom's mother wore a -floral velvet trimmed with prune; and prune hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of red berries and autumn tinted leaves. The decorations at the hall were of pink antirrihinucms and pink iceland poppies and a large and beautiful bell entirely composed of white roses, was su-spended above the bride and bridegroom. Tho beautiful bouquets were made by Mrs. A. J. Hobbs, and were her gift. Mrs Hunter's travelling costume was of.two tones of.brown eelanese marocain and nigger coat, and hat and shoes to tone. The bridegroom's gift to t-he bride was a handsome brown handbag, her gift to tho bridegroom being a set of ivory hair-brushes. ; Mr. and Mrs. Hunter left, after the ceremony, for the north.
