High and Pretoria—streets. Set in tasteful surroundings the /now models present not only the most modern car engineering features, but flashes a challenge to the fleetest and smartest on the road. TSho first model, to catch the eye is .the Sports Roadster. In this long, low, racy and colourful model; Chevrolet has caught the v>oiy spirit of youth. Fleetneaa and vigour are. expressed in every ■line and an additional touch of smartness is added by the six wire wheels of thsc large ornamental hub type. The wealth of cromium plating on all bright parts still further adds to its attractive appearance. The second model, and tfae one that appeals to all with families,- is the Customs Sedan. In this

model the designers^ have carried their interpretation of a roomy -general purpose family car to the ultimate degree

of luxury. Interiors, are upholstered in

colourful New Zealand made broadcloth. The front seat is fully adjustaiblc. Polished wood mouldings beneath all door windows silk sun blinds, floox mats, dome lights, and rpfbe' rail are items which complete the charm of this attractive*model. Fivie demountable wire wheels (spare carrier in a /well infront ..fendef)y New Zdaland-iuiacte^chro-' niium plated bumper ba^rs front and rear, and New Zealand-made carrier as well' as all the usual appointments are standard equipment. ' .

There aTe also three other Sedan models in different designs to suit the most, fastidious tastes, namely: the Club, Ascot and York Faibric Sedans. The two latter cars were especially designed and built at 'Petoroc to meet the demand of the motoring connoiseur for a- car of the utmost distinction at a price wihich is not eoinpaTable with the value offered. Other models to compl&bo a very wide range of cars,' wthich the makers claim are the greatest value in. Chevrolet History, are the Phaeton and the Custom and Standard Coupes.

A special feature of the show is a cut down working model of the new 1930 Chevrolet engine. This machine is

driven by the electric motor and shows the operation of such parts as the pistons—a further improved feature of this year's car —'the A.C. fuel pump which displaces the vacuum tank .with its attendant evils of sticking valves and imperfect feeding of tlhe fuel to the carburettor Tihe ignition system and the hctv type cylinder head are also shown. The parts displayed indicate the advance mado since the first six .was.produced. Larger brake drums and the completely enclosed G wheel braking system is ■, demonstrated by the sections of brake shoes etc. Belining 'becomes a simpler operation with tiie new Chevrolet as the distributors,. Messrs Valley and Bay Motors Ltd., carry stocks of moulded brake lining , section already cut to length, drilled ana countersunk ready to bo rivetted to the ibrake shoe. In this connection the abovie firm has installed a system of super service for Chevrolet Six owners which will shortly be extended to the older models. This servico consists in a speeding up^ of common servico opoTations such. as valve reconditioning and cylindcr-hea>d decarbonizing. It is possible under this system for the owner of a Chevrolet Six to leave his car at the "V and B" Service Station for the above operation to be effected, and call again in one hour to take delivery.
