HINTS FOR THE HOUSEKEEPER.
HOUSEKEEPER. A piece of lemon-skin put in tie dish when you are- washing up will soften the water, remove all trace of the smell of fish, onions, etc., and give china a fine gloss. If your fowls are addicted to eggbating, try soaking an egg in kerosene for half an hour and placing it in the nest. This is a certain cure. When two tumblers become fixed, one inside the other, pour cold water into the inner glass and stand the outer one in warm.water. As the inner-glass will contract and the outer one expand they will be easily separated. An aluminium pudding dish in which a. baked custard or milk pudding is t<> he cooked can be prevented from bi coming marked by rubbing well on th^ inside with butter before using.
