ELECTRIC POWER AND LIGHT.

(To the Editor). Sir, I have visited almost every district in thi> Dominion, in which Eleetrie Power boards arc operating, and I ani ■certainly, not' overrating facts when. I give o vthc Hntt Valley Power Board pride of. j)laeu in one respect. While the charges do not- greatly exceed those imposed: by other .Boards, cosiimers may congratulate themselves on having a far more faulty service than o>btains anywhere else. There is seldom a night passes but there is an entire stoppage of light and power, for at least one period, sometimes in the evening, at. others iii the- later hours, and more frequently in "we sma' hours/ The Board and its officers blandly assume that the consumer Neither likes these stoppages, or does not mind such trivialities ami enquiry as to their cause is met /with a yarn about a bird, a rat, a moth, or ot-he-r, bird, beast or fish causing the ioterruption or other such fairy tale. I have a suggestion, to make for betterment. Let the Board add to its staff a rat-catcher, a bird-trapper, and an entomolagis to attend to these varitms causes of temporary darkness, and also let each meter-reader be provided with a stock of candles for free distribution to those whose supply is so frequently Cutoff. lam etc.. FIAT LUX.
