HUTT VALLEY TRAMPING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Hutt Valley Tramping Club was held in the Borough Council Chamber'on Monday revening- In t>he aJbscnce of the President, Sir Alex Boberts, Mr, W. T. Nelson Occupied the chair, and there was an attendance of 25 memibers. Speaking to the report arid balance sheet, the chairman said that the clfob ihad shown considerable progress during the past year largely owing to the energy of the secretary. Although the ; club is in a sound position he would like to see" a few more members, for I a tramping club to be successful it was necessary to have an influx of new members. The work of track formation under tie expert organisation of Mr. G. B. Wilson .tad 'been very helpful to those going .up arfd down the Tai*herenikau "Valley, in addition to the other development work in the Tararua district. He was pleased to see the#e. efforts as it showed that members were taking an interest in this class of work. Tihe social side of the club had not been neglected. A very successful dance had (been held and it was hoped th-ere wouldbe another in tie near future. The report and balance were adopted. i Officers for the ensuing season were elected as follows: —President, Six Alex : ander Roberts; vice-presidents, Messrs Green, Powell and Nelon; chief guide, [Mr. J. Wills; hon. secretary and tfeaj SUrer, Mr. S. Jones; hon. auditor, Mr. W, A. Scott; committee, Misses Bilair and Bobihson, Messrs Middle, Tibbett, Gv Wilson, I. Powell, F. Steinmuller and Kirker. The question of the affiliation of all [ alpine and tramping cluibs with the N.Z Ailpine Clulr was referred to t&e,incoming committee. The question of cliab colours was left for the ladies* committee to decide. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to tihe chair.
