Sir, —I would bo pleased it' you can spare spa<io to thank the following for .gifts received on behalf of tho above irork:—-Mrs. Nieholls, Parliament street jrram and parcel of clothes;; MTs.\Dahl, ißa4rwin Street, cot;. Mrs- Matthews, ' "WataWStreet, cot; Mesdames Parker, Tilbury and Maud, parcels of clothes;. Mr. Webster, parcel; Mt. 3?eist, blankets (itews)j Mrs. Kent, Auckland; per Mrs. Davies, Sherwood Street, now fclankets; Anonymous, shoes and new socks; Mrs. Van Oyerioop and Mrs. Stannard Knight,, mackintoshes; Mts. • ■ <2Larks.on, baby clothes; Friends, per Mra. Stannard Knight, children'si •tathes. We were able to get a stock from Headquarters again this ?§Bkk, but no trousers or boys' elotfies, which. . seenied to be the great need this week, thought it is difficult to tell really what is the greatest need; certain garments are demanded in cycles, we notice it in Wellington as well. Twenty-two applicants came this week, and wo distributed as fairly as possible, according to meed and sdzes of families, 5 quilts, 15 eoate and. overcoats, 12 pairs boots and shoes, 5 cardigans (refused many; had no more)', 4 mackintoshes (special cases'), 1 pair gum boots, 213 garments cEiiefly undeuwear and dresses, chill-, dron's clothes, etc, besides socks and ' stockings. - Three wool mattresses were ■ ' sent i'rom- : .
