The following six have been appointed to a seat in the Legislative Council:— The Hon. D. Buddo, former member for Kaiapoi and an. ex-Minister for the Crown. Mr Robert. Masters, a. former . member for Stratford, a well-known. Taraiaalri business man, and chairman of tins Royal Commission on Railways. Mr Jonathan Trevethick, a retired, Auckland business man, actively, associated • with.public affairs. . - Mr R. McCallum, who was for many years member for Wairau ,ancl is-paro-minent in the administration of md- : . versity and primary education. Mr B. A. Anderson, C.M.G., managar of Ward and Co., Invercargill, ytHOt has a long public career in Soutfcland>. Mr Mark Fagan, a veteran miners' union leader from the West Coast of. the South Island.
