DRIVER'S NARBOW ESCAPE
When the 9.50 a.m train from Trcntham to Upper Hutt reached a level crossing at Wallaieeville one morning last week it struck a milk lorry and ihuri'ed it \ a distance, of thirtyfour' feet. Tihe driver of the lorry, Alexander Grorrie, of Whiteman 's Valley, had a narrow escape from sudden death, being thrown over a fence. Gorrie was going from Upper Hutt to Whiteman's Valley, and. when on the crossing the train struck the lorry broadside on, near the right rear wheel. T>v. Kemp attended Gorrie, who was suffering from slight concussion, body bruises, and shock,, and he was after-, wards removed to the hospital by the ambxilance. ' . .
