The monthly meeting of the-executive was iheld in the Council Chambers an
Wednesday, 7th May, Mr. D. S. Patrick: (president) in the chair, with, an attendance of twenty members.
The report, and statement of accou-nts fox the Autumn Show were read and
received,
The President and--members referred to the popularity of the sfhows, the theatre being paekedto the doors on the opening day, the increase in entries, fhe perfection of blooms, and the artistic, staging of exhibits, and in the decorative section, tihis' being .the second occasion where a medal was awarderd. The reception to their Excellencies \>y \YI& High School and C^.iiton St. James pupils -was a very pleasing ceremony, and it was decided to forward a letter of thanks ami appreciation'to .the
schools
. Tihe accounts showed a credit balance and it was mentioned the-Society was a great.asset to frho Hutt Valley.
Tho prize money (about £50) and expenses:, were practically all distributeo in the valley.
It was pleasin-g to see the inc-esse in the Juvenile Sections.
With the increase; in the ontdos it v/as suggested tliat in future- i'c vrM .be necessary to use both' rooms for ttc S-how—rtheatre and dance hall— e*pfizYoJJy so on. 17th and 18th Sspfombi'i--1930, as the Nationail Daffodil Society Avill hold its spring show in conjunstion wibh the Hutt Spi-ing Shovv-.
