It is now definitely announced that A. E. Cooke, the noted All Black footballer, has decided to take up Ms residence in Lower Hutt. He will play for the Hutt Club next Saturday against
University.
Mr. "Walter Nash, M.P., has been advised by Sir Joseph Ward, the Post-master-General, that in response to his representations it has been arranged for a Post Box to be >exeeted at the intersection of Douglas street with Bell Road, Lower Hutt.

Ambulance service attended 87 accidents, 433 transports, 7 slight and one serious office cases a total of 528. Included in this number were 15 cases from Petone, one from Koro Koro, and 27, from Lower Hutt. The iSuperinten&<'enfc 'reported that in the last 12 months 13,5 ( 7^m0t0r accident cases had been attended by the service.
The Mayor of Lower Hutt, Sir Alex. Roberts, stages' that \he will be glad to receive the names of any residents lathe borough, who, during the next "three months) could give temporary employment of any kind to men out of work. He is of the opinion that, in. a borough like Lower1 Hutt, there are many who have rough gardening or other work
about their homes, which would help

- In our Teport of the judgment summons eases heard- at-V the last sitting of the Lower Hutt Court, it was inadvertently stated;-that J. C. Levy received judgment against. S. cClendon, whereas S. Olendon was the judgment creditor, not judgment debtor. We regret the error and take this opportunity of publishing the case in its correct form, thus: J. C. Levy was ordered to pay S. Glendon £24/i3/- at the rate of 10/- per month in default 10 days [ imprisonment.

Two now bus services have been inaugurated which will be of •considerable convenient to early morning travellers. Arrangements have also been made for a bus to leave Waterloo Quay for Pc-
.tone and Lower Hutt after the arrival of the ferry steamer. A minimum fee of 2/- for any distance, will'be charged for this trip. ;
