Last Saturday the local men accounted for Varsity after a fast and open game by two goals to nil.. Early in'-.the first spell Varsity'made a determined aifctack buit of no avail and it was no!t long before tilie local forwards took the play into Varsity circle and Gfovilliam netted with, a fast s&ot. Hutt 1, Varsity 0. ' Varsity initiated a ' series of aitrta'cks and the Hutt halves had a strenuous time. At one stage Varsity icarrietl the play through to Hu-t.t circle where Gutry in goal made a brilliant save. Hii'tat rallied again and atf-ter a vigorous attack Ghwilliam again netted, •the. score at end of first spell being Hutt 2, Varsity o.' Tftie second spell •opened witto. a series of up an-d down play, the game being .more even until the final stages when HtM were definitely superior. Time and again shots were sent in only to be stopped by Davis, Varsity's goalie, who was well backed up by his full backs. Varsity were troubled, by tfhe Hutt defence and had little chance o-f opening up tine game. Play end&d with the final score Hutt 2, Varsity 0.. Mr. W. Keys refereed the game. ;
