At Petone the Senior B (A Team) 'had a fast and interesting game wifri Pe.tone. Hutt were without the services of thoir goalie (T. Belks) who is on •the. sick list, and the left full back w>as alloiwed to kick in the circle. Prom the * initial toulv Hut* attacked strongly and took play to Petone'a twenty-five, where the full backs cleared and Petone gave the Hu>tt defence sioirie anxious momeats neiax the goal mouth. A period of even play followed, until after about fifteen niinutes•». play. Stoupe received •the ball friom a melee in front of the Petone 'goal and with- a good shot, opened Hhiitt 's account. The Seiiior B (A Team)- journeyed to Kilbdriiie to meet Huia (last year's champions). Huifrt won the toss and elected to play with' the sun in their favour. Instead of playing a goalie, Hutt played three fall backs, deeMing to take the goalie's privilege: of 3d«Mng in" the circle. Tihe g^me commenced ait a fasit raterand vriithin ftv© minutes Htua h&d.scprecL. Hnia 1, Hutt 0. The reverse put more sting in^o J?he
j Hutt attack and within a few minutes | the forward' line took the ball practically the w&ole length, of the field. The miovememt resulted in the Hutt score being opened by JVXaifcth&ws. 1, Huit.t 1. There was a spell of even, play. Then Atkins improved Hutt's position. Hutot 2, Huia 1. In the second spell Hula put on the- pressure. The Hurt full btwks were safe and senit play to the thor tend. Huia 's efforts wero rewarded Ay-hen they took'advantago of an open goal ior an easy shot. Hutt 2, Huia 2. A keen struggle followed each team striving to obtain the- ! winning goal. Wi'ttin five minutes of itho final whistle Hutt were awarded | a penalty corner. Atkdns and" Fleet saw: itheir opportunity and took it. Atkins stopped the ball on the edge of the cdrele, and neatly side stepped for Meet to put in. a s&at which gave the goalie no chance.' Hutt 3, EDuia 2. Hutt kept up the attack but could hot improve their score and the game ended Hutt 3; Huia 2. . After witnessing this game } one must confess that one referee is mot able'to control a senior naaibciii efficiently, as it is. impossible, for him to ■be ait both ends of the field at t>he same time. . - Wo wei-e pleased to see Tom Matthews, and'"Pete Judd put again on 'Saturday. They will strengthen the forward line considerably. Aitkans and Fleet (newcomers from Wanganui and Taiihape respeeftivcly) have" proved to bo fit^P6r any team, while Gray (la/te of .Wiairarapa), is very safe-at rigiht full' back. . ~ ~
