Shy—ln his report of the Kandwick School Committee Election, Mr Paris (late secretary) utade several statements whic-li were very misleading, and which were no doubt intended to convey a wrong impression to the public generally. * He stated that the new committee of nine were elected much to''the-''-indignation arid resentment of tho residents. He also stated that the ejection of those'members was- a 'fore-
goue conclusion. Oi. of the new committee, I woyld ask Mr. Paris how could our, eliction be resented by; the residents if our success at the ballot was a foregone'> conclusion: If our election was, as Mr Paris stated, a foregone con-. cldPibn,' then those nine members must toe a very popular committee. : .
I might here mention that Mr Paris was -second to last,in a ballot of thirteen candidate, so it appears conchvsi\ely that it was he who was resented, and not the now committee.
In his report Mr Paris also mentioned tha,t the: residents . contend thiaitt politics should' not enter _ into sohiool cr.iami-ttces, or any pawt of educational w-ork. I expect; even Mr Paris has sutficic-iit intelligence to have his own political thought, but I would not for one ivjomeirt accuse him of introducing^ politics into schools. y
Tj conclusion, Mr. "Editor, I migi.t iirforxn you that the nine sii'ccessftil ean.didutes wero nominated by citizens residing ii the Ranftwipk School Diatfict, and wer- elected by a clear majority at h hou«oholders' meeting probably the latest meeting of its Mud held, not 'oillv in the Wellington District, but rij£>-vth Jrovghcut the whole of NewZealard—l am etc.,
