OIL PAINTING CLASSES

Of special interest to all artistically inclined residents of Lower Hutt is the announcement made by Mr. J. Sthadlock to the effect that he is commencing classes of instnvction in oil painting and water colour drawing. We Shadloek is well known in the Hutt Valley as a photographer, but up to the present has not made it known that he is also an artist of quite outstanding ability, being the possessor of over 20 South Kensington certificates (First-class, Elementary and Advanced), for drawing and painting. After studying for three years in the Technical School at Yeadon Lc^, England,-Mr. Shadloek won a scholarship which gave him four years' .tuition at the Bradford City School of Art. So that he had seven, years training, in addition to many private lessons in oil and water colours from Mr. Richard G-ill, R.B.A, an eminent English artist.

' An , exhibition of apintings by Mr. iSlhadlock is on view in tJie. showroom •windows of Smith and Smith Ltd, in the Town Hall Arcade and gives tangible proof of the excellence of his work.
