HUTT VALLEY HOCKEY CLUB

T>he first meeting of the management e&mmittee of the local hockey club, was held at Mr. A. O. Wright's residence last week. . It was decided to enter five teams in the Wellington Hockey Association's Championship—^Senior A, Senior B (2), Junior and T&ird.

Arrangements are well in hand for the dance to be iheld in the Bang George Hall on 24th inst. Invitations are.ifae•ing sent out this week and the Pennsylvanians have been engaged to supply the music. ._

The following donations to tiae dub's funds were asknowledged with thanks: -:--Sir. Alex. Roberts, Mr.W. Nash, M.P, and Mr. H.G. Teagle.

Although the club has lost several of its well known players, the local boys should make themselves felt in the various grades. Several new members have joined up including such brilliant exponents as Eddie Mcleod^ Cyril Smallwood and, newcomers from other disfriets. '- Endeavours are being made to obtain a ground on the Recreation Ground for

practice purposes. Two-practices have been held at Hutt Park, where they; ■will be held eacUi Saturday until fuither notice. Messrs King (chemist), and Edgar-Smith (bootmaker) have kindly consented to display notices in their windows. Members should &t* tend practices to enable the .selector* to see them in action before the final selections are made.
