PUPILS' CONCERT

In the Lyceum Hall, Lower Hutt, on Saturday afternoon the junior pupils of Miss Muriel Adams L.A.8., enterr tamed Jtheir parents and friends with a musical recital, consisting of Maori songs panoforte duets and solos, recitations and dance. The following pupils > took part: Patricia Hawke and Allan Wilson (pianoforte duet); Ellen Nielsen and France Clout (Maori recitations); Joan. Hodges, Roseneath and Allan Wilson (songs accompanying each other); Winnie Evans, Jack Noble, Doris Wright, Joan Wright, Edith Bance," Freda Hodges, Molly Evans, Kitty Banee, Gladys Barker, Peggy Harris and Bob Schmidt, who all gave pianoforte solos. A poi dance in costume. was given by Nola Simeon, accompanied by Peggy Harris and a quartette was sung by Mavi Bock, Joan Enton, Betty Jowett, anct Percy Andrews, accompanied by Patricia.

The programme was followed by theory teSts and competitions, when thefollowing prizes were won: —First grade r Freest Hodges and Nola Simeon, first ? Molly Evans and Bob ,Schmidt secondSecond grade (presented by Mrs Glennie).: Allan Wilson first; Jack Noblesecond.

Easter eggs were.then distributed tothe children and afternoon tea was followed by' games and dancing the musicbeing supplied by Miss Elsie Jones-
