! The Wainui-o-mata Women's Institute held an open entertainment in t-he Public Hall last Wednesday. There was a Jarge^ audience, which listened with interest to a short tall*-given by Commander Young entitled "The Humorous Side of the Navy.'' / Tjhe commander related a few of his own experiences, in tie Navy thirty .years ago, which showed his listeners how different the conditions were compared witih the present day; He told many humorous "rum stories and pointed out that rum was and always had .been regarded as a very sacred .thing in the Navy. . . Mr, W. Burden proposed a hearty j vote of thanks to Commaftder Young ■, for his most interesting talk^ :
