LOWER HUTT COURT

A. heavy increase in the,total amount sued for in the Cower Hutt Court, for the quarter which ended on March 31, as compared .with the corresponoing period last year, is t>e outstanding feature of the quarter's return. Between the beginning of the present year^and Monday last, the total amount sued for in the Lower .Hutt Court was 54554, as against £1448 for the same period of i929Van^ increase of £3016, or more than 200 vpef cent* All the other classes of the Court's business also show-an increase over the figures for last year. There were 184 plaints enteredfforr r 1930 quarter, as against 127 plaints last year, and 00 charges as against. 69; while the fines and fee collected in stamps totalled £286 as against £1951
