AN UNIQUE CONCERT.
The Hutt Valley Dramatic and Ope* ratic Society is commencing its season with a concert, which will be of a most novel variety. " It is billed a# "Opera and Jazz" and the programme will consist of Grand Opera Selections, elocution, concerted numbers, sketches, dancing humour in plenty, and a JaM Orchestra in fifteen minutes of red hot jazz etc., etc. The concert will be held at St. James's Hall on Monday, 7th April, and will commence on the stroke of 8 o'clock. .
In- the Operatic Section will be included items from "I'Pagliaci," Samson and Deliah, Sadko, etc., and should provide a feast of good music. .The Jazz Section will "go witt a bang'/ from start to finish, and is brimful of various ingredients, making the whole into a sparkling cocktail of pep ana pleasantries. ~.."-. Ono of the foatures of the concert will be the bailleis arranged and directed- by Miss Katnlecn Bartish, whose dance recitals have been so tremendously popular,in.Lower Hutt. Miss Bartish is a most talented instructress and any items she arranges are certain to be "head-lines." Miss Bartish will ■also appear with, distinction upon th.« programme. r The concert is being organised an<i ■directed by Mr. AssSieton Harbord, the producer of the Society, and his ripe experience in all theatrical matters is a guarantee of something good.
