Spirits of Lavender, pr Lavender water may be made without distillation (it is" illegal td ke"ep a still without a licence) as follows r—^Take a pint of spirits of wine, an ounce of English oil of Lavender, 10 grains of Musk, and an ounce of essence of ambergris; left theni stand in a well-corked bottle foT a month, and filter through a filterpaper, and put in a well-stoppered toot-, tie.
