LOCAL AND GENERAL.
Arrangements are woll forward for the High School Grardeu Party to be held in the grounds oC Mr. E; Beynolds, Pharazyn Street, on Saturday afternoon jiext. In addition to the gymnasiiiJm items, etc. by the pupils of the school, Miss llussell will give -an exhibition of eurythniics. Afternoon tea will be served and the Hutt Municipal Silver Band will be in attendance.
The Moera Free Kindergarten- will hold a Cake Day on Friday, 21st mat., in one of the vacant shops in Bandwiek Road. Contributions of cakes, produce etc., will be very acceptable. The W.E.A. a Classes for • the 193<F session will be resumed, on Tuesday, 25th inst., in the Council Chamber, The executive is fortunate in securing the services of Mrs. M. L. Hannah, who will "conduct classes in Modern Drama. Mrs Hannah," who -has recently returned from abroad, is very well known in Wellington for her clever'1 theatrical production work, also in ° Lower Hutt where she has pxodu'ced plays for some of the local schools.
Harvest Thanksgiving Services will bo -helud at the Trinity Congregational Church on .Sunday next. A special feature will be the singing, and the choir will render anthems, as also will a large and talented orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr Ch'as. Leyland. Solos will also be rendered by "leading local sol.oists and tie Rev Wearne will deliver addresses appropriate to the occasion. . Every effort has been made to. make this year's Harvest Thanksgiving a wonderful success. and a large congregation is antieipa-ted-at each service^ • "

The Methodist Ladies' Guild are holding a Jumble Sale on March. 21st. The proceeds are to used towards furnishings for the parsonage. Gifts suitable for stalls .may be left at the parsonage, the day before tie sale.
