LOWER HUTT ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB.

The nimtiii annual meeting of the Lower Hutt Association Football Club was held in the Oddfellows Hall on February, 26fch, the President (Mr. F. Campbell) presiding.

The secretary presented the annual report and balance sheet (as puiblished in our last issue), which was adopted.

In speakdng to tsie report the chairman congratulated the management and social committee on the excellent manner in which they Orad each carried out their duties alxd said that he* did, not think t&ere was another similar clu'b:in New Zealand that could show sueE a satisfactory balance. The progresa made by the players had been most satisfactory and he hoped they would soon be in" the'senior grade. ' '

The President welcomed Mr. A. Williams of the Wellington Centre whs) v had come to reside in the Hutt, and would be a great help to ftSie local club as ie was anxious to. assist them. Mr Williams had kindly offered to donate half t a dozen footballs to the el'aib if they would axjceptthem. The offer was received with -warm thanks and ap-

Mr. A;dam said t»hat as the club had a credit balance \of £143 he wished to see some of it put aside to f oTm the v nucelus of a building fund so that the club could some day -have its awn club room. It was decided that £100 be deposited -in the Post Office Sayings Bank and that Messrs F. Campbell, R. G. Adam and T. Potts be appointed trustees for the fund. It' was decided to try. and arrange for a team to vdsit Wairarapa or Palmerston North during tsie playing season. Mr. Harris asked th^t more encouragement be given to the boys 'by the club. Mr. Adams pointed out that it was difficult to find coaches particularlyas the soccer game did not receive muich encouragement at some of the secondary schools. Another speaker disagreed witii tnis statement arid said, that at the High School his own boy had been told by Mr Kidson that lie could please himself which game sic played.

The chairman said tthat it largely rested with the teacheTS and it was also a question of the suitability erf the grounds. T3ie centre had investigated the matter and had experienced nt> difficulty 'with, the s'cnooJs. It was decided to refer the matter to the management committee in the liopc that some coaches would offer tiheir services.

Mr. Bachelor spoke of the good work being done by the honorary secretary.

The following coaches were recommended to the management committee: Messrs Potts, Carfcmell, Griffin, Allison. (Lcllan and G-oflixu ■■ ' ■

T&e Chairman moved that a special vote of thanks be recorded for tie wonderful work that had been done by •the social committee^. He said that- the Hutt Glub was < particularly- fortunate in having so many "ladies working for the eluib. '

A motion of sympathy was carried with the relatives of the late Mr. P. EeynoWs, all present .standing. Votes of thaSks to the chair and press concluded the meeting.
