Stokes Valley Women's Isstitute ntld its monthly meeting at (the horns -<»Jf Mrs. Huse, Hay-wards, on the 26th February. The attendance was-the largest, since its inauguration and Mrs Walker:■( demonstration of the makiug of slippers from an old felt hat N was followed with keen interest, especially by the'mothers present. The treasurer reported a very satisfactory credit balance—a goodly increase -being due to the receipts f i om, the recent Birthday Party. Arrangements were made for ttie, forthcoming annual meeting, and v v^rv" happy afternoon was'*o rough* to a clcne with votes of thanks to Mesiames Huse and Walker. :
