A FAREWELL SOCIAL.

The congregation of St. Stephen's Church, tendered .a farewell on; Wednesday, February 26th, to Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Kersley, Miss Kersley, and Miss Findlay, who all leave for England early next month. The social was held in the Oh/urch' Hall, and during the evening a programme "was enjoyed, and speeches were made by representatives of the Session, (Mr E. P. -Lambert); the Managers (Mr. H. S. Barron); the Sunday School, (Mr. Davison); the Choir, (Mr. Fordie); the Women's Guild, (Mrs Charters) ; the P.W.M.U., (Mrs Lopdell); the Sunday School Primary, (Mrs Jensen); the Tennis Club, (Mr. F. A. Fiest);'and Visiting Committee (Mrs F. McDonald). All these ladies s and gentlenien spoke very eulogistically of the guests of the evening, and their untiring support'of all church, activities, for Mr. Kersley has been an elder, and also superintendent of the Sunday School, ,while Mrs Kersley 'has 'been the Bible Class leadci-, and it is through -her instrumentality that the tennis courts have materialised. She has also been' president of the~ Visiting Committee, while the Misses Kersley and'Finday have 'been equally indefatigable in t-ho Primary Department. Mr. ' Kersley responded and thanked all for their'kind appreciation, and good wishes. Supper brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.

A* the monthly meeting, of the St. Stephen's Visiting'Coipmittee, occasion was taken to farewell the retiring president (Mrs JEersley). Mrs McDonald (President elect), presented Mrs Kersley with, two volumes of Wdlhelmina Stitch's works, and a basket of flowers, and in doing so said that it was almost entirely dive to Mm Kersley'« enthiiSxasm and initiative that the coinmitt«e had achieved what it had, and tendered to her the good wisSies of the committee, and wished her "bon voyage."
