A very successful concert the auspices of *"the Stokes' .Valley Ratepayers' Association was' held in the locall hall on' the night of Saturday, February 22nd. Talented artists from Wellington and district provided fare | which evidently found great fayoui , with a_ large audience. It Is impossible i to select', any item for special praise, but mention must be made-of the.kindness of the Bristol Piano Co. in lending a BaTnard Player Piano. This wa3 used for all accompaniments and in addition a selection, of "Player" rolls was given by Mrs. Woods." At t»he close of the concert Mr. A. C. Dickson, President of the. Association, in a few well chosen words, thanked the artists for the enjoyment they had given.
